Weekly #2

So many aspects of Frank Chimero's article are compelling to me, mostly because I know next to nothing about this topic. The portion with which I resonate the most is when he poses, then answers, this question: Have you noticed what’s happened to software in the last ten years?

I agree with the Chimero calls software "something that permits us to do things we couldn’t possibly do if they had to be made with the so called real thing." I find it so intriguing that the functionality is no longer dependent on form. Software has been completely revolutionzied; a piece of technology no longer needs to look like its original form. The Nest is simply a round button on a wall with all the functions (and more!) of an old-school thermostat! This makes me excited for the future of software. I believe that if this is the route we're on, the form will get simpler and simpler (maybe even more ambiguous), but function and power of each object will get stronger and stronger.
